In the early 1960s, master planners from the University of California imagined a sprawling, meticulously designed city to hold 50,000 residents. Over time, those plans came to fruition and more. Today, Irvine is home to over 300,000 people, making it one of the nation’s largest master-planned cities.
In addition to its perfect design and landscaping, Irvine is home to countless restaurants, hotels, shops, and activities. Whether you want to ride the hot air balloon in Great Park or walk around the incredible Irvine Civic Center, there’s always something to see and do!
The city planning isn’t the only high-end aspect of Irvine. There are also plenty of world-class restaurants to suit any taste. You can also catch a show at Irvine Spectrum Center or keep the kids entertained at Pretend City Children’s Museum.
The Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) regularly ranks as one of the top school districts in the state by the Best Schools in America Report. Whether you send your kids to one of the many private or public schools in the city, you know they’re going to get one of the best educations in the country. Once grade school is finished, the University of California Irvine also resides in the city.
